it is so quite before the storm ...
Today was a kind of strange day. The weather was almost too perfect ... the TV and radio was only talking about the hurricane heading to our coast ... and we were sitting on the beach starring to the west and waiting for storm clouds ... but nothing happened ... the wind blew stronger then normal ... the birds acted kind of strange ... no fighting for food ... they just sat together in the sand ... and it seems that some of them tried to cover in the sand holes ...
The supermarket were crowded ... and when I drove through the streets of South Beach I could witness that some shops were putting shutters in front of their windows and doors ... but their neighbors were still open and looking for customers. Same thing on Ocean drive .. some hotels were closed ... but some bars had business as usual ...
Right now the national hurricane center announced that Wilma is again a hurricane kat. 3 ... wind is up to 115 mls/h ... the west coast and the keys can expect storm surge of about 10 to 15 feet ... plus the waves ...
right now the waves in the gulf of Mexico are up to 40 feet high ... that is a 4 story building!
40 seems to be a number that comes along with Wilma on a regular base ... a couple of hours ago they reported that some parts of Cuba have to expect 40 feet of RAIN when Wilma passes along ...
